If you suffer from excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis, in your underarms or palms of your hands, you may be a candidate for BOTOX for hyperhidrosis. When antiperspirants and deodorants are not enough to curb your underarm sweating, BOTOX® for hyperhidrosis may be an effective solution.
About Face is located in Harker Heights, Texas and serves Waco, Killeen, Temple, Belton and the Central Texas Region. Contact us today to schedule a consultation with our medical team and find out if you are a candidate for BOTOX® for excessive sweating.
What is BOTOX?
BOTOX is a botulinum toxin that prevents nerve signals from reaching a muscle or sweat gland. It is injected directly into the area of excessive sweat with an ultrafine needle.
How does BOTOX prevent me from excessive sweating?
In the same way that the botulinum toxin blocks nerve signals in facial muscles, it can also block chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate sweat glands. When these chemical signals are not received, the amount of sweat that is produced is significantly less.
How do I know if I have Hyperhidrosis?
Only a medical professional can determine if you are experiencing hyperhidrosis. While there is no “normal” amount of sweat, there are some guidelines you can use to help you understand if you may be a candidate: If you change your clothes frequently, use extra absorbent material to soak up your sweat, avoid certain clothing or materials, due to your sweating, or have altered social or other behaviors because of excessive sweating.
Our 41-year old female client suffered from excessive sweating in her palms and received BOTOX to reduce or eliminate the sweating.
“The sweating in my palms had become so bad, it had changed everything. I was embarrassed to shake people’s hands, I quit playing piano, which I love to do… I even had trouble wrapping my son’s Christmas presents because the paper would get so wet and tear apart. I heard BOTOX may be an option so I gave it a try. I can’t believe the difference! First of all, I can’t stop feeling my smooth, dry palms and I almost cried when my husband held my hand and didn’t have to wipe his off and I didn’t feel self-conscious. I feel like I have my life back. Thank you so much, About Face!”
How long does it last?
BOTOX has been clinically proven to last more than 6 months when used for excessive sweating. The exact duration of the treatment will vary for each client.
