A recent study estimates there are between 75-100 million American men and women suffering from hair loss. Technically referred to as alopecia, hair loss can result from a number of causes including genetics (such as in male or female pattern baldness), poor nutrition, stress, pregnancy, drugs, or trauma, and begin as early as age 20 and accelerate with normal aging. If you are looking for hair loss treatment for women or men, PRP hair restoration may be for you!
About Face is located in Harker Heights, Texas and serves Waco, Temple, Belton, Killeen, and the Central Texas Region. We offer PRP hair restoration – a non-surgical solution to promote fuller, thicker, healthier hair growth. Contact us today to schedule a consultation with Mr. Jeff Garberich and find out if you are a candidate for PRP hair restoration.
What is PRP Hair Restoration?
Platelet Rich Plasma is a growth factor in your blood that can stimulate collagen synthesis, skin renewal, cell growth, and tissue regeneration. The process of taking blood from a patient, isolating the platelet rich plasma by spinning it in a centrifuge, and injecting it back into an area where the body needs to heal has been used for many years in medical fields such as urology, ophthalmology, dentistry, neurosurgery, orthopedics and sports medicine, to name a few. Due to the success of using PRP in these medical fields, it has been developed into a procedure for hair restoration. PRP Hair Restoration is a non-surgical treatment that utilizes the body’s own platelet rich plasma to help restore and thicken hair in patients with pattern hair loss. It is important to note that using PRP for Hair Restoration is still being analyzed as a means to restore hair growth and to reverse thinning in men and women and it is not yet FDA approved.
Benefits of PRP Hair Restoration:
This innovative approach to restoring hair is:
- A non-surgical procedure
- Quick, with appointments lasting 45 minutes and an actual treatment time of less than 10 minutes.
- Safe and reliable because the treatment uses the patient’s own blood
- Easy with a no downtime and quick recovery period
- Renowned for its extremely natural-looking results

What Can I Expect During the Procedure?
Prior to treatment, an anesthetic cream will be applied to the treatment area to numb the treatment area. A small amount of blood will be collected and put in a centrifuge to isolate the platelet-rich plasma. Finally, the PRP will be injected into the treatment area. Patients can return to normal daily activities immediately after the procedure.
Client Spotlight
Our 60 year-old female client received PRP Hair Restoration to increase hair growth and strengthen new and existing hair follicles

Testimonial
“Over the past 10 years, my hair has thinned out and I’ve had severe breakage, which made me think about how I would look in another 5 years. I can’t believe how PRP has affected my hair after just 2 treatments – less breakage, and reduced appearance of a thinning hairline. I am so happy with this non-surgical solution. I’m less self-conscious and am a more self-confident, beautiful me. Thank you About Face Anti-Aging Institute!”
How Often Do I Need Treatments?
Though results may vary by patient, the initial process includes 3-4 treatments, one month apart. After the initial treatment is completed, additional maintenance treatments are given at 6-12 month intervals, depending on the response to the procedure.
What Results Can I Expect?
Results will differ for each patient, however patients generally begin to see thickening of the hair and significant reduction of hair loss between 1 and 4 sessions. The treatments must be continued periodically to maintain any improvement.
Am I a Candidate for PRP Hair Restoration?
The best candidates for PRP treatment are those that do not have a history of Alopecia areata or scarring Alopecia. Alopecia areata is a type of hair loss that occurs when your immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles, which is where hair growth begins. Scarring Alopecia is the loss of hair which is accompanied with scarring and can be caused by a diverse group of rare disorders that destroy the hair follicle, replace it with scar tissue, and cause permanent hair loss.
