Many people are dissatisfied with submental fullness, or a “double chin”, and find that this fat doesn’t respond to lifestyle changes such as diet and exercise because genetics is often the cause. Traditionally, this cosmetic condition has been corrected using surgical procedures, but at About Face Anti-Aging we offer non-surgical Kybella® injections to lift and tighten the area underneath your chin without any downtime.
Located in Harker Heights and serving Waco, Killeen, Temple, Belton, and the Central Texas Region, About Face Anti-Aging Institute is led by board-certified physician assistant Mr. Jeff Garberich, PA-C. Contact us today to schedule a consultation and find out how Kybella® can create a younger-looking profile without any time off from your normal activities.
What is Kybella ®?
Kybella is the first FDA-approved, injectable drug used to reduce the appearance of submental fat, more commonly known as a double chin. This injectable treatment is comprised of deoxycholic acid, which is found in the body and aids in the natural breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.
What is the Kybella procedure like?
During a typical Kybella ® treatment, a series of small injections are administered into the fatty tissues of the chin – a procedure that is well-tolerated by most patients. Once underneath the skin, the deoxycholic acid formulation destroys fat cells and prevents them from accumulating or storing fat in the future.
Are There Any Side Effects of Kybella?
As deoxycholic acid is biocompatible with the body, Kybella® typically does not result in contraindications for men or women. Slight redness, bruising, itching, or swelling may occur at injection sites for a day or so but should quickly subside afterward. Mr. Garberich will ensure that this treatment is safe for you during your consultation by evaluating your health, medical history, and other factors.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Results may vary, but a series of two to four sessions is typically necessary in order to achieve full results. Mr. Garberich will outline a treatment plan for you during your consultation and discuss what you can expect and how many sessions you may need for your individual condition. Once the desired effect is achieved, your double chin will not come back and no further follow-up treatments are needed.
Our 44 year-old female client wanted to get rid of the excess fullness under her chin.
“Having a thick chin is hereditary and it’s always made me feel insecure. I’ve spent my life trying to hide it with turtlenecks or scarves. The time had come to get something done and I couldn’t be happier! Now I’m excited to have a more defined profile and I can’t wait to see what I look like after another treatment!”
“Double chins run in my family and it made me look older than I am. It really bothered me! I came across About Face one day and popped in when I saw that they did Kybella. I decided pretty quickly to get it done and I’m glad I did. I can’t believe the difference. I’m really happy with the results!”
Can Kybella be used for other areas?
